Muhammad Asif — Co-Founder & Lead Developer

I’m Muhammad Asif , a technology leader, cloud architect, and lifelong builder with over 22 years of experience turning complex problems into elegant digital solutions. I’ve spent more than two decades designing, engineering, and scaling software systems across some of the world’s most demanding industries: fintech, health-tech, construction technology, and telecommunications. My work spans continents, industries, and technology stacks, and my passion for problem-solving has never dimmed.
But beyond the boardrooms, architecture diagrams, and cloud dashboards. I am, at heart, a gamer and a tinkerer. I grew up fascinated by how computers worked, how games pushed hardware to its limits, and how a perfectly optimized machine could deliver experiences that felt truly magical. That childhood curiosity never left me. It simply evolved.
Today, I hold certifications across AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Google Cloud Professional, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure AI, PMP, PSM I, and Java 17 among others. I lead engineering teams, architect multi-cloud platforms, and build AI-driven systems. But when the workday ends, I’m still that same person who wants to fire up a game and get lost in another world.
The Dream Rig That Started It All
A few years ago, I decided it was finally time. After years of gaming on whatever hardware was available, I set out to build my dream PC, a machine crafted with purpose, engineered for performance, and built to handle everything I could throw at it. I researched for weeks. I compared benchmark scores. I read review after review. I wanted perfection.
When the parts arrived, I assembled everything with care. Top-of-the-line components. Impeccable specs on paper. A machine that, by every measure, should have been a powerhouse. I powered it on, launched my favorite game, and waited for that smooth, butter-like performance I had dreamed of.
Instead, I got lag.
Frame drops. Stutters. Performance that simply did not match the investment I had made. I was frustrated, confused, and as an engineer deeply intrigued. How could a machine this powerful underperform so noticeably? I rolled up my sleeves and went to work diagnosing the issue the only way I know how: systematically, methodically, and with data.
The answer hit me like a cold splash of water. I had a bottleneck. My GPU was incredibly powerful, but my CPU could not keep up. It was choking the data pipeline, starving my graphics card of the instructions it needed to perform. All that money, all that effort, undermined by one fundamental imbalance I had completely missed.
The Idea That Changed Everything
As I fixed my own setup and began talking to other gamers about their experiences, I realized something: this problem was everywhere. Forums were full of posts from frustrated gamers who had spent hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars on hardware, only to find their system still underperformed. Most had no idea what a bottleneck was. Many who did know had no easy, reliable way to check for one.
The existing resources were scattered, technical, and intimidating to the average gamer. There was no single, clean, accessible tool that could take someone’s components and instantly tell them: here’s your bottleneck, here’s why it matters, and here’s what you should do about it.
That gap was the spark. With my background in software engineering, system architecture, and AI-driven data analysis, I knew I had both the skills and the perspective to build exactly what the gaming community needed. So I did.
Building mypcbottleneck.com
I built the Bottleneck Calculator at mypcbottleneck.com to solve a real problem for real people. The tool is designed to be simple on the surface but powerful underneath. You select your CPU and GPU, and within seconds the calculator analyzes the performance relationship between your components, identifies any bottleneck, quantifies its severity, and gives you actionable recommendations.
Behind that simple interface lies a system built on detailed hardware performance data, technical benchmarks, and the kind of systems-thinking I’ve applied throughout my 22-year engineering career. Every recommendation the tool makes is grounded in real-world performance characteristics, not guesswork.
My goal was never to build something just for experts. Quite the opposite. I wanted a first-time PC builder someone who had just discovered gaming to be able to use this tool with zero prior technical knowledge and walk away with a clear understanding of whether their build was balanced, what was holding it back, and how to fix it.
Why mypcbottleneck.com Is Different
Let me be honest with you: there are other bottleneck calculators out there. I’ve used most of them. And that’s precisely why I built mine.
When I was troubleshooting my own system, I tried every tool I could find. Each one fell short in a different way. Some only looked at the CPU-GPU ratio and ignored everything else. Others gave me a percentage with no explanation, no context, and no path forward. A few were so cluttered with ads and irrelevant content that finding the actual result felt like solving a puzzle. None of them felt like they were built by someone who actually gamed, actually built PCs, and actually cared about the person on the other side of the screen.
That frustration shaped every decision I made when building mypcbottleneck.com. Here’s what makes it genuinely different:
1. It Goes Beyond CPU and GPU
Most calculators online do one thing: compare your CPU and GPU. That’s it. They ignore the rest of your system entirely. But real-world PC performance is never that simple. My tool analyzes the full picture including your RAM configuration, storage type, screen resolution, target use case (gaming, streaming, content creation), ray tracing settings, and AI-based upscaling technologies like DLSS and FSR. Because in 2025 and beyond, a bottleneck isn’t always between your processor and graphics card. Sometimes it’s your RAM. Sometimes it’s your storage. Sometimes it’s the game engine itself. My calculator accounts for all of it.
2. Results That Are Actually Accurate
Accuracy is where I hold myself to the highest standard. Many tools online are built on outdated hardware databases, theoretical performance ratios, or oversimplified formulas. The result? Numbers that look precise but don’t reflect what’s actually happening in your games. My calculator is built on real benchmark data across thousands of hardware combinations, continuously updated to include the latest CPUs and GPUs. It accounts for real-world performance variables not just spec-sheet numbers. When my tool says you have a 28% CPU bottleneck at 1080p, that figure is grounded in observed, measured behavior, not guesswork.
3. Three Tools in One
Most bottleneck calculators stop at detection. They tell you that you have a problem, and then leave you alone to figure out what to do next. I built three interconnected tools into mypcbottleneck.com. First, the Bottleneck Detector identifies the problem which component is bottlenecking, by how much, and at what severity. Second, the Component Comparator lets you compare two CPUs or GPUs side by side, so when you’re planning an upgrade, you can see exactly how much performance you’ll gain before spending a penny. Third, the Optimal Component Finder automatically identifies the ideal CPU or GPU to pair with your existing hardware, eliminating the guesswork of shopping for upgrades entirely. No other tool in this space gives you all three in one place.
4. Built by an Engineer Who Is Also a Gamer
This might sound simple, but it matters more than you’d think. Most tools in this space are built either by developers who don’t game, or by gamers who don’t have deep engineering backgrounds. I’m both. With 22 years of professional software engineering, cloud architecture, and systems design behind me, I understand how to build tools that are reliable, accurate, and scalable. And as someone who has sat in front of a monitor watching their dream rig underperform, I understand exactly what a gamer needs to hear, and how to say it clearly.
5. Clean, Fast, and Distraction-Free
I designed mypcbottleneck.com to respect your time. The interface is clean, the experience is fast, and the results are presented in plain language that any gamer can understand regardless of technical background. You don’t need a computer science degree to use this tool. You just need your component names. Within seconds, you’ll know exactly where you stand, what’s holding you back, and what to do about it. No clutter. No confusion. Just answers.
How Accurate Are the Results?
This is a question I take seriously, because I’ve seen too many tools make accuracy claims they can’t back up. So let me be direct: mypcbottleneck.com delivers the most reliable estimates available from a web-based bottleneck tool and I’ll tell you exactly why.
The calculator’s engine is built on a continuously updated database of real hardware benchmarks drawn from thousands of actual gaming and productivity workloads. Unlike tools that rely solely on theoretical specifications, mine cross-references actual measured performance data. It accounts for resolution-specific behavior (because a CPU bottleneck at 1080p often disappears at 4K), workload type (gaming vs. rendering vs. streaming), RAM speed and capacity impact, storage throughput effects, and the performance implications of modern rendering technologies like ray tracing and DLSS.
To be transparent as any honest engineer should be no web-based tool can perfectly replicate the infinite combinations of real-world variables: your specific drivers, your operating system configuration, your background processes, your thermal conditions, or the unique demands of every individual game. What my tool provides is the most accurate, data-grounded estimate possible, giving you a reliable picture of your system’s balance and where its weakest link lies.
In practice, users consistently report that the results align closely with what they observe in real gaming sessions and that the upgrade recommendations lead to meaningful, measurable performance improvements. That real-world validation is the accuracy benchmark I care about most.
My Philosophy: Simplify the Complex
Throughout my career, one principle has guided everything I build: complexity is the enemy of performance. Whether I’m designing a multi-cloud architecture for an enterprise client or building a calculator for a gamer in a bedroom somewhere, the goal is always the same make something that works reliably, clearly, and without unnecessary friction.
The best technology doesn’t make you feel its complexity. It simply delivers. That’s what I’ve tried to create at mypcbottleneck.com, and it’s the standard I hold myself to in every project I take on.
To Every Gamer Reading This
Whether you’re planning your first PC build, upgrading a component, or troubleshooting performance issues you can’t explain I built this tool for you. You shouldn’t have to be a systems engineer to understand why your PC isn’t performing the way you expected. You should be able to get a clear, honest answer in seconds.
That one frustrating moment with my dream rig turned into something I’m genuinely proud of. It turned into a tool used by gamers around the world, helping them build smarter, spend wiser, and play better.

Haris Khan – Co-Founder & Content Strategist

I’m Haris Khan, Co-Founder of MyPCBottleneck.com. As a certified CompTIA A+ technician and AWS Cloud Practitioner, I bring both formal credentials and real-world gamer instincts to everything we build here a combination that genuinely sets MyPCBottleneck.com apart from tools built by developers who’ve never actually agonized over a GPU upgrade decision at 2am.
I’m a pro gamer and lifelong PC builder, and I know that frustration better than most. For years I used bottleneck calculators that spat out a percentage and left me with more questions than answers. No context, no upgrade path, no real-world relevance. That frustration became the spark behind MyPCBottleneck.com, which I co-founded alongside Muhammad Asif in November 2025. In under six months, what started as a personal mission turned into a trusted platform serving thousands of gamers, builders, and tech enthusiasts covering everything from CPU and GPU compatibility to RAM, storage, cooling, ray tracing, and DLSS/FSR modeling.
Beyond the tool, I lead content strategy at mypcbottleneck.com, making sure every guide, article, and performance breakdown reflects the gamer-first philosophy we’re built on. I also draw on over 8 years of entrepreneurial experience as CEO of PT & Co, which has sharpened my instinct for what users actually need not just what looks good on a feature list.
My goal has always been simple: turn hardware confusion into clarity. Whether you’re putting together your first build or fine-tuning a high-end workstation, I’m here to make sure you upgrade with confidence and game without limits.
